What is Physics? The Meaning and Importance During the seventeenth century, the modern science of physics started to emerge and become a widespread tool used around the world. Many prominent people contributed to the build up of this fascinating field and managed to generally define it as the science of matter and energy and their interactions. However, as we know, physics is much more than that. It explains the world around us in every form imaginable. The study of physics is a fundamental science that helps the advancing knowledge of the natural world, technology and aids in the other sciences and in our economy. Without the field of physics, the world today would be a complete mystery, everything would be different because of the significance physics has on our life as individuals and as a society. In the natural world, physicists find new discoveries constantly. Some of these discoveries include the study of motion and forces. The well-known scientist, Isaac Newton, came up with the three laws of motion, which state rules and facts about the movement of an object. Our textbook states the laws of motion, as ?A body in motion will remain in motion at a constant speed and direction unless an outside force acts upon it. The net force acting upon an object is directly related to the mass and acceleration of the object resulting acceleration is in the direction of the net force, which is the vector sum of all forces acting upon the object. Finally, the third law of motion states that when one object applies a force to another, the other object applies the same amount of force back to the first object, but in opposite directions.? With these laws of motion, we can understand in detail how our world works. Also, that the movement of an object is more complex than a simple push. This discovery is taught to students all over the world because of its great importance and will continue to enhance the knowledge of the mystery of our earth. The importance of physics not only lies in the discoveries of the natural world, but in the technology in our modern lives. Today we use many gadgets in our everyday tasks, which act as convenient aids to all of our needs. Some of these little novelties are cell phones, radios, computers, lasers used in eye surgery, fiber optics used in phone lines, calculators, hearing aids, and even global positioning systems.

Compare/Contrast My Two Favorite Places Essay

Everyone has their secret special places that they go to or places just to simply get away or look for advice at every once and a while. I am not anyway different than anyone else, as I also have some very secret places where I go when I need privacy or just seeking much needed advice. One of my places is the lake in the wintertime. There I can escape from the everyday mess and can think more rationally or just simply soul search. The lake is located approximently 45 minutes from my house; it has a beautiful view as well as total silence in the winter. The lake water is some of the bluest I have ever seen and the choppiest in the wintertime. I visit the lake in the winter due to the fact that it is not bust with the energy of all the people that come during all the other months. I go to mostly just to get away form the hustle and bustle of work and the city scene. The quietness is very peaceful and soothing to me. It is nice to just hear the waves hitting the mountain side that surround the lake shore. I normally don’t stay very long, but just stay long enough to know there is still a great place left where I can think and reflect on myself and my thoughts. My second place is long missed, for it is not here anymore. It was going to my great grandparents house. They were wisest people that I have came across in my life, much like people read about in storybooks or fairy tales. I could always go to them and receive wonderful answers and stories behind any question that lurked in my mind. No matter what the question may have been the answers I was given were always one hundred percent honest. This place was definatly the better of the two! As opposite as to going to the lake this place was usually loud as he was a man that talked ver loudly as well. Going to his house was somewhat a treat to me and I always walked away with the feelings I was seeking answers for. This place is missed very greatly, but not lost. It will forever be with me in my heart as long as I am here. The second place is much better than the first, but seeing how he is no longer here anymore, the first always helps me reflect upon the second. I find myself going to the lake more often to seem at peace with a lot of things.

Rhetorical Fallacies Rhetoric And Logical Thinking

Rhetorical fallacies are â€Å"errors and manipulation of rhetoric and logical thinking,† as defined by informationisbeautiful.net. Rhetorical fallacies such as affirming the consequent, appeal to pity, and undistributed middle, can be seen in any type of debate, or conversation. Rhetorical fallacies are very apparent in politic related public speaking, as I have observed. This paper will examine three videos from the Meet the Press series and the rhetorical fallacies I identified in these three videos. Senator Sherrod Brown used the two fallacies of jumping to conclusions and affirming the consequent in the video â€Å"Senator Sherrod Brown - Meet The Press.† Informationisbeautiful.net says the fallacy of jumping to conclusions is â€Å"drawing a quick†¦show more content†¦In the same video, Kasich uses another fallacy, the straw man fallacy. According to informationisbeautiful.net, is a fallacy that is â€Å"creating a distorted or simplified caricature of your opponent’s argument, and then arguing against that.† In the video, Kasich talks about his views on how he would handle health care and the poor, â€Å"Because we want to stabilize health care and make sure poor people have something, people assume there’s a motive. Sometimes, people do things because they actually want to help somebody. When we do that, everybody says, ‘Well, what’s in it for them’† (7:23). Kasich makes the opposing side’s argument int o a basic concept which can be easily argued against. He also makes the opposing side’s argument into something people could easily disagree with. â€Å"Relationship Between Trump and Arpaio Began with Birtherism † is a video with four reporters tell their views on President Trump’s pardon. There are two fallacies in the video, appeal to tradition, and undistributed middle. Informationisbeautiful.net says appeal to tradition is â€Å"claiming something is true because it’s (apparently) always been that way.† A reporter speaks how America thrived from immigrants.
